故事背景设定在至高共和国时代末期，一个充满“阴暗秘密与新兴黑暗势力”的世界。受人尊敬的绝地大师Sol（李政宰饰）同昔日前绝地徒弟Mae（阿曼德拉·斯坦伯格饰）深入调查绝地武士接连被杀害的真相，他们要面对的势力比预想中更加险恶，更不知不觉间走入黑暗漩涡之中……

这部由Emilia di Girolamo负责编剧的剧集讲述1992年的真实犯罪事件 - Rachel Nickell强奸谋杀案。当时警方认为Colin Stagg是真凶但却证据不足，而无奈之下年轻探长决定与国内一名犯罪侧写师合作，并进行一次十分大胆的卧底行动。Niamh Algar饰演卧底警员Lizzie James，她被指派接近嫌疑犯Colin Stagg并引诱对方。
